NEW ALBANY, IN (WAVE) - While some people have waited several weeks to cast their vote on Election Day, some neighbors in southern Indiana already have.

Early voting in Floyd County ended at Noon Monday. There were long lines before doors opened at 8 a.m. leading Floyd County Clerk Christy Eurton said this is a good indication for a strong turnout on Tuesday.

"As of right now, our early vote totals are over 18,000 and we have a little over 60,000 registered voters," Eurton said. "We're already looking at a 33% voter turnout, assuming we have 100% turnout on Election Day." 
 
Floyd County has accepted more than 2,000 absentee ballots.
