Activists hope to get attention of holiday shoppers

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Activists from a variety of local groups gathered on Sunday hoping to amplify their voices by working together.

The rally in front of Mall Saint Matthews featured political protesters, Black Lives Matter activists, gay rights groups, immigrant advocates and environmentalists protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline.

Participants said they decided to meet in front of the mall because they would have a better chance of getting the attention of holiday shoppers.
