LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Country music superstar Dolly Parton's real-life story of growing up in a large, poor family in Sevier County, Tennessee continues with a sequel to 2015's hit TV movie Coat of Many Colors.
Dolly Parton's Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Lovetells the story of a Christmas when Parton and her siblings raised money to buy their mother the wedding ring she never had. It also depicts a winter when a snowstorm stranded the family and left them struggling to survive.
The movie stars Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland fame and former child star Ricky Schroeder, who reprise their roles as Parton's parents. Both actors appeared on WAVE 3 News Midday to discuss the film and Parton's role as the Painted Lady, the "woman about town" after whom Parton patterned her signature look.
