JCPS board denies administrator raise

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The Jefferson County School Board isn't signing off on a raise for a top administrator.

Jefferson County Public Schools Superintendent Donna Hargens wanted to give Chief Equity Officer John Marshall a five percent salary increase, but the board did not agree to it.

Marshall currently makes about $160,000.

A 2011 study found the school district had 150 employees who made more money than Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer.
