LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Some of us sat down to a Thanksgiving meal with eight adults at the table, and chances are at least one of them battles diabetes.
Kentucky's diabetes rate is considered a public health epidemic. The Centers for Disease Control just moved Kentucky from the sixth worst, to the third worst in the country in diabetes rates, and estimates one in three Kentucky adults - more than a million people – have prediabetes.
This holiday season is a good time to turn the tide. Start your New Year's resolutions early and help yourself or someone you know who is dealing with diabetes.
Current scientific evidence demonstrates that much of the sickness and death from diabetes can be prevented, delayed or significantly reduced.
