LORENA, TX (KXXV) -

A 9-year-old girl from Lorena made a new kind of Christmas list this year.

Paislie Gill started Passion for Foster Friends after deciding to give up her own Christmas and buy new gifts for foster children instead.

"We heard a commercial because we were listening to the radio, and it was talking about how foster kids don't get new presents. They get a lot of old worn out toys and clothes and shoes and stuff like that, but they never get new, unwrapped presents," Paislie said.

"Well, I thought about that and felt really bad so I thought that I could help them by giving my Christmas up and giving it all to them," Paislie added.

"She's more excited about how this is going to affect the other children than it is about how it's going to affect her to not get Christmas which makes me very proud," Paislie's mother Leslie Gill said.

Passion for Foster Friends has already provided gifts for over 45 foster children - with each child receiving four gifts specific to what they want. Paislie implemented her family's tradition of giving 'something they want, something they need, something they wear, something they read'.

"These are individualized lists instead of just generic gifts given. She's bought anywhere from iPods for tweens all the way down to teething for infants," Leslie said.

Paislie and Passion for Foster Friends are accepting gifts and monetary donations until December 15, 2016.
