LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - There are plenty of holiday cheers to celebrate this season!
Cheers to Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson, the youngest winner ever to win the Heisman trophy, and the first Cardinals player to win it. Jackson also won the Associated Press College Football Player of the Year, the ACC Player of the Year, and was named to the AP First Team All-American team at quarterback, among many other awards.
Cheers as well to the Western Kentucky football team for winning their second straight Conference USA championship, and Trinity High School, for winning their 24th state football championship.
Cheers as well to Louisville City Councilman Bill Hollander and Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton for co-sponsoring a much-needed Tree Protection Ordinance for Louisville Metro. We encourage the full council to approve it and hope it leads to a big reduction in bad-air days in the city. Preserving existing trees on public streets and planting more will only help!
And a big cheer to all of you for your tremendous support once again for the Angel Tree program we champion with the Salvation Army. Many families in Louisville and Southern Indiana will have a better holiday because of you.
