Lewis & Clark Bridge opens to the public

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The new Lewis & Clark bridge is now open to the public. The bridge opened at 4:45 p.m. Sunday.

Earlier in the day, there was a ribbon cutting ceremony at which project leaders, as well as city and state officials spoke.

After the ribbon cutting, a caravan of 500 cars had the honor of taking the first drive across the new bridge.

The bridge will be toll-free until December 30. After which, the tolls will take effect.
