There's an update on plans to bring Costco to Evansville's east side.

The wholesale club, a fueling station, and a tire center would be built off Burkhardt Road, near Cross Point Boulevard and I-69.

The developers behind the project met with Area Plan Commission representatives on Monday to look over their plans.

They are in the very early stages of the project, so Monday was all about talking about those plans to build the 150,000 square-foot building.

The developers got to hear from the health department, building commissioners, and fire department officials on what they need to move the project forward.

More meetings are scheduled for April to get approval on rezoning plans for the lot. After that, they will head to city council.

The developer said he'd like to start construction by next spring.
