Thousands visit Louisville for Junior Volleyball World Challenge

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Thousands of volleyball players will take over Louisville this weekend. 

More than 780 girls junior teams will compete at the Junior Volleyball Association World Volleyball Challenge at the Expo Center.

This event is expected to bring more than 20 thousand guests to town. 

This is the 10th year for the event which was first held in Louisville.

"The college coach community supports this incredibly well," Jenny Hahn, JVA Executive Director, said. "There are tons of college coaches here. The girls are hoping to get an opportunity to play, so they're getting scouted here."

First and second place teams in each division get paid entry to the AAU National Championships in Orlando.
