Neighbor on Erin Moran: “I didn’t know anything was wrong”

. - HARRISON COUNTY, IN (WAVE) – When envisioning a Hollywood star's house, a single-wide trailer isn't usually what comes to mind.

However, Happy Days star Erin Moran called the Berkshire Pointe Trailer Park home. She died there last Saturday.

“It was frightening we didn't know who it was or what happened or anything,” Kimberly Combs, Moran’s neighbor said.

According to an autopsy, Moran had stage four cancer and likely died from complications.

“She was really nice,” Combs said. “Really nice lady. (She) seemed to be happy. I didn't know anything was wrong with her.”

However, it appears things may have been wrong for some time. Following Moran's booming career in the 1970's and 80's, she had sporadic acting stints.

Per NBC, Moran was rumored to have struggled with substance abuse and was working on a memoir entitled, Happy Days, Depressing Nights.

Amanda Richard, a waitress at the Corydon, Indiana O'Charley's said Moran lived in the Super 8 behind the restaurant about four years ago. Richard said Moran would visit the restaurant frequently, sometimes twice a day.

“She was depressed and she would tell me that a few times,” Richard said. “She would say, ‘I'm just in slumps right now.’”

Richard believed the fall from fame saddened Moran and always hoped the star would get better.

“I felt for her,” Richard said. “I really did.”
