Project Warm volunteers prepare homes for cold weather

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Hundreds of volunteers participated in the 27th annual Project Warm Blitz on Saturday. Project Warm provides weatherization assistance for low-income, elderly and disabled residents.

About 550 volunteers made up 125 teams of volunteers on Saturday. Volunteers' duties including sealing up leaky areas around doors and windows.

Over 300 homes in Louisville and Lexington received weatherization help from Project Warm. 

Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities company employees participated as part of LGE & KU's annual Day of caring.
