Tammy McClanahan and Paula Miller will be walking in the Survivors Parade at Oaks. At Paula's own expense, she's a launched a t-shirt "support campaign" which read, "if they can treat it, I can beat it!" She takes shirts to patients, support groups and care centers and does tons of phone and in-person encouragement with others.


Churchill Downs, Derby Divas and Norton Cancer Institute partner to support breast health programs and the "Pink Out" survivors parade. This is the 10th anniversary of the Kentucky Oaks Survivors Parade. 144 breast and ovarian cancer survivors will walk in this year's parade.  

One in eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. Although ovarian cancer is less common than breast cancer, survival rates for both these cancers are rising thanks to the success of screening, early detection and treatment and research advances.
