More heavy downpours to track later today.
With the moisture content so high and the wind flow aloft weak, rainfall amounts have been impressive. Over 2-3" can fall depending on how that particular storm cell behaves/lasts.
Expect a repeat of that today.
There is a difference in the setup later, however.
Which a low pressure moving in from the south, the amount of "lift" will be present into the nighttime hours. This means the development of downpours can take place even after sunset. We will need to watch this as flash flooding at night is certainly a dangerous setup. Again, only isolated cases of this being the issue tonight.
Friday will start off with downpours which means the amount of heating will be more limited. Coverage looks higher compared to any day this week as well. Not a washout of a day, but could you see off and on rain for several hours? Yes.
The low pressure slowly exits Saturday but we never really wipe out the moisture in the air. So the rain chance will remain which lesser coverage expected. I know we have many events going on so it will all come down to timing and how much rain is around predawn Saturday.
We heat up Sunday before our next front arrives.
The tropics still need to be watched toward Memorial Day. Mainly for those that have vacation plans to the south beaches BUT...the steering flow is still in question on potential impacts closer to home which may end up being just beyond the holiday weekend.
