One more day of scattered thunderstorms to track then we get a break!
So, if you have STILL been missed from the rain...you have a chance.
If you have had too much, it is almost over :)
The issue this afternoon will once again be the risk for some flash flooding, but also the continued risk for damaging winds. Even an isolated, brief tornado possible...but that risk is quite low.
There looks to be 2 initialization areas for the t-storms. One near the Parkways where last night's boundary is still "hanging out". And the other along the cold front near Indy. It will be the one to the north that will steal the show later this afternoon.
Once the front passes, lower humidity values will seep in. It you will notice a slight difference tomorrow morning but I really don't think most of you won't notice the change until Friday morning. I say "mornings" because it will remain quite warm in the afternoon's (mid/upper 80s) and you will still feel SOME humidity...just not as bad as it has been.
Enjoy it, our first heat wave of 2018 is about to develop starting Saturday into next week. Highs 90 to 95 look likely with the heat index averaging 97-102. Not quite to Heat Advisory level, but close. So use caution and take care of each other and your pets!
The thunderstorm risk will be low during this heat wave, but not 0% either. Anytime you get that hot with some moisture around, an isolated t-storm will be possible.
A cold front will attempt to beat down on this heat from the north later next week. My feeling is it will arrive slower than what the models show. But it will eventually arrive. I am going with thunderstorms increasing (in a scattered fashion) late next week and possibly into that weekend. More adjustments to come on that.
Oh and one more thing, do you have a pool? :)
Make it a Goode Morning!!
