The Jacksonville Airport Authority (JAA) owns and manages the Jacksonville Airport System, serving the commercial, business and recreational aviation needs of the City of Jacksonville, Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. JAA comprises four airports, Jacksonville International Airport (JIA), Craig Airport, Herlong Airport and Cecil Field, all of which are strategically located throughout the community and will provide aviation services to Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship visitors.
Jacksonville International Airport (JIA) - located just minutes from downtown Jacksonville, JIA provides non-stop flights to major U.S. cities, including those that serve as international gateways. More than a dozen major airlines and a network of regional carriers provide some 200 daily arrivals and departures at JIA. An expansion and improvement plan, scheduled for completion in 2003, will further enhance the airport's already outstanding services.
Craig Airport (CRG) - located just minutes from downtown Jacksonville, this airport is ideally situated for quick access to the city's beaches and downtown business district, as well as nearby ALLTEL Stadium.
Herlong Airport (23J) - located about 11 miles southwest of downtown Jacksonville, this airport is area's premier recreational and sport flying airport.
Cecil Field (VQQ) - located approximately 15 miles west of downtown Jacksonville, Cecil Field is home to the state's second longest runway and accommodates general aviation and business aircraft.
The Jacksonville area is also served by St. Augustine/St. Johns County Airport and Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport, a 604-acre facility with four full length runways that accommodate general aviation and business aircraft. Both airports are conveniently located within a thirty-minute drive of downtown Jacksonville.
