Clark County Sheriff's Deputy Indicted on Drug, Gun Charges

(WINCHESTER, Ky.) -- A central Kentucky deputy sheriff has been fired after being indicted by a federal grand jury on drug and gun charges.

Jonathan Bradley Myers, who had been working for the Clark County Sheriff's Department since January 2003, was arrested on Monday after being indicted. He was charged with drug trafficking, official misconduct and a weapons-related charge.

Myers was fired by Sheriff Ray Caudill pending the outcome of the investigation. Caudill said he would consider rehiring Myers if the charges are dropped. No other deputies are under investigation, Caudill said.

Myers is the son of Clark County Judge-Executive John Myers, who is running for re-election in November.
