Cathedral Commons Apartments Now Open In Downtown Louisville

(LOUISVILLE) -- After undergoing major renovations, a popular restaurant in the heart of Downtown Louisville is now home to several families.

The site of Miller's Restaurant and Howard-Hardy house is now called Cathedral Commons, located at 433 South 2nd Street.

On the parking lot of the old cafeteria stands a 40-unit apartment building with street side commercial space.

The building dates back to the 1840's and has been returned to its original appearance as a project to provide affordable housing in the heart of the city.

All of the units are state of the art, and two of them are handicap accessible.

Eleven families are already living in the apartments.

The project for affordable housing was made possible thanks to a $500,000 dollar grant from Louisville's Housing Department and federal tax credits.
