TEST-Ky. native plans to overcome obstacles to become Olympic sprinter

RICHMOND, Ky. (WAVE) - A Richmond, Kentucky native is fighting big odds to make it to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

Dallas Robinson has six inches and 25 pounds on most other sprinters, but that's not stopping him.

In 2007, the former college track star was working in the corporate world and making good money - but not making himself happy. So he started running again.

Even though he was out of shape, he broke the state record and started to fill that internal void - something not everyone understood at first.

"When you quit your job and you tell everyone you quit your job, and you're gonna put on Spandex for a living and run around in a circle, they wonder what's going on."

Robinson is now training every day for the Olympic trials in Oregon coming up in late June.
