Crews fight house fire in Buechel

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Emergency crews responded to a house fire in Buechel on Sunday.
A call came in around 11:20 a.m. of a residential structure fire in the 2000 block of Bruce Avenue, Metrosafe said.
Several fire crews, including companies from Okolona, Camp Taylor, Jeffersontown and Fern Creek, responded and found heavy smoke and flames showing from the side of a single story family residence.
Firefighters began to battle the fire outside the house, but the fire inside the structure was advanced, requiring crews to be ordered out and begin a defensive attack, the Buechel Fire-EMS said on Sunday.
Soon after the firefighters exited the home, part of the roof collapsed.
No injuries or rescues were reported. All residents and pets were able to escape to safety.
