Mother says son killed in Chickasaw drive-by shooting was in ‘wrong place at wrong time’

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The mother of the man who was shot and killed in the Chickasaw neighborhood says her son was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Witnesses told police the shooting was a drive-by, with multiple shots fired.

The shooting was reported in the 3800 block of Grand Avenue at 12:35 p.m. Monday, according to MetroSafe.

When officers got to the scene they found a man suffering multiple gunshot wounds in front of a home. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) were also at the scene.

A woman told WAVE 3 News Reporter Maira Ansari that bullets went through her uncle’s home. He was not hurt.

Several people who have family and friends in the area came by the scene to check on their loved ones.

The name of the victim has not been released.
