LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - To many Cards fans, Scott Satterfield is relatively unknown, but some say they’re feeling optimistic with the experience the coach brings.
Satterfield inherits a football program that’s hit rock bottom. The fall of 2018 was one of the worst seasons in the 100-year history of the University of Louisville football program.
The team won two games.
"I’ve never seen a season as bad as we had last season,” Stefan West, a Cardinal fan, said. “I think we have a lot of talent and if we just get a little guidance, I think we can definitely have a much better season than last year.
Some say they are grateful for the time Coach Bobby Petrino gave the Cards, but they’re looking to the future with coach Satterfield.
"He went into Tennessee and Penn State and competed and took both teams to over time with Appalachian State,” Creighton Harley, a Cards fan, said. “Give him a few years, that’s what we will have to do. He will compete and hopefully he will win.”
