LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville Metro police are investigating two shootings in the Pleasure Ridge Park area that left one man dead and another injured.
Around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to two separate scenes about a tenth of a mile away from each other -- in the 1600 block of Clover St. and the 1700 block of Brick Kiln Lane.
The general area is near the intersection of Dixie Highway and Upper Hunters Trace. The Clover St. location is in the Walnut Grove Apartment. The Brick Kiln Lane scene is on the street leading to the apartments.
Police found one man shot to death in a second-floor apartment on Clover Street.
The other man was found shot outside a home on Brick Kiln Lane. That victim is expected to survive.
Their identities have not been released.
Police have not made any arrests.
“To see something like this is shocking because I would never expect it,” Ann Hamill said.
Hamill lives next door to the home involved.
She’s lived there for about five years and said she’s been suspicious of the activity on her street the last few months.
“A lot of the cops usually stop here and then you see them race down the road," Hamill said. "You see a lot of the same, I guess undercover, black trucks. They stop, they talk to the cops and then they go down and there’s a lot of commotion going on down by the apartments.”
Anyone with information on these crimes should call the anonymous police tipline at 502-574-LMPD (5673).
