Shots fired into Shelbyville home leaves 1 dead

Neighbors react after man killed by bullet fired into home

SHELBYVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Kentucky State Police are investigating a shooting in Shelbyville that left one person dead after shots were fired into a home just hours before Christmas Eve.

The shooting happened around 7:35 p.m. December 23 at a home in the 600 block of Southlawn Drive. Troopers say someone fired multiple shots into a house before fleeing the scene.

The victim,Jon Monroe, 53, of Eminence, KY, died after being taken to Jewish Hospital Shelbyville.

An autopsy was conducted on Monday.

KSP has not arrested anyone in connection to Monroe’s death. State police said it’s unclear what the motive is in this deadly shooting.
