Plane bound for Chicago makes emergency landing in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A plane on its way to Chicago’s O’Hare Airport from Louisville’s International Airport had to return to make an emergency landing on Wednesday morning.
It was an American Airlines flight on a CRJ-700 aircraft, Louisville airport officials shared.
The plane had a mechanical issue and had to return to Louisville to land around 9 a.m. There were 70 people on board, including the crew.
Officials said the plane landed safely, and was met with the airport’s emergency response team.
The exact mechanical issue the plane experienced is under investigation.
