AMPED and the Family Learning Center

Academy of Music Production Education and Development, AMPED offers Louisville’s youth a place to express and explore their creative side through music.

AMPED is a free program that provides a safe environment for kids to be creative while learning skills for their futures.

This program offers children ages 11 to 17 classes in piano, guitar, drums, songwriting, computer repair, IT support, digital skills, job placement, audio and video production, engineering, videography and photography.

Founder Dave W Christopher and project manager Monica Stewart are asking for volunteers to mentor and tutor students.

Mentors are paired with a student during classes, empowering and giving students the tools to become independent and productive citizens, creating their own path.

At the end of each class students can perform their new skill sets in a recital.

The American Red Cross Holiday Hero Donorama

The American Red Cross is hosting its annual Holiday Hero Donorama Thursday, Dec 27 and Friday, Dec 28.

This was the 41st year for the donorama. It was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in ballrooms A and B.
