LEXINGTON, KY (WAVE) - Just days removed from his career-topping performance against Louisville, Kentucky’s Tyler Herro is getting some national accolades.
Herro put up 24 points against UofL, his career-high. The freshman shot 10-of-13 on the day, while also knocking down a career-high four 3-pointers.
Herro became the third Kentucky freshman guard to be named SEC Freshman of the Week in as many weeks.
Over the Cats' past six games, Herro’s averaged 16.7 points per game and better than 50 percent shooting from the field.
He was also named the Bluegrass Sports Commission MVP of the Kentucky-Louisville game.
The Wildcats next travel to Tuscaloosa to open SEC play against Alabama on Saturday, January 5.
