LMPD investigating city’s first homicide of 2019

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Just hours into the new year, a man was shot and killed in Louisville’s Parkland neighborhood.

LMPD was called around 3:15 Tuesday morning, about a shooting in the 2900 block of West Kentucky Street. Officers found a deceased man in an alley near the parking lot across from Cole’s Place nightclub, which closed in November. Police say there were no witnesses, and it’s unknown if there was a New Year’s Eve event at the former nightclub.

The victim is described as a black male, in his 20′s or 30′s. His name has not been released.
