LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A new decade, and a new look.. Kentucky Lottery has unveiled a new logo to help celebrate 30 years in the Bluegrass.
The last time the logo was changed - ten years ago.
The new logo, designed by Louisville advertising agency Bandy Carroll Hellige, features red, yellow and blue graphics with a horse at the top. The artwork represents a connection between the lottery and the state itself. Kentucky Lottery President and CEO Tom Delacenserie says, “The horse represents pride in the history of the commonwealth and the fast-blowing motion of the graphic captures our commitment to innovation and forward thinking.”
The art may be new, but the slogan remains the same - “Fueling imagination, funding education.” More than 800-thousand students in Kentucky have received a college scholarship or grant paid for by lottery proceeds. In the past twenty years, the Kentucky Lottery has raised $3.4 billion dollars for students to go to college. Lottery sales fund the KEES Scholarship program, need-based programs, and Work Ready Scholarships, which help students of any age go back to school to earn a certificate or degree.
More than 800,000 students have received a college scholarship or gran paid for by lottery proceeds. That’s one out of every four Kentuckians.
