LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville business has been named in the Top 100 Impact Companies list--Facilities Management Services, the first janitorial service in the world to become a certified B-Corporation.

The list, compiled by Real Leaders Magazine, ranks ‘the top companies applying capitalism for greater profit and greater good.’

FMS has over 850 employees and has been owned by the Koloms family since 2001. It’s a registered Public Benefit Corporation in Kentucky, and its social programming often involves nonprofits, customers, and the public sector, which often works toward improving the financial and physical health of employees and families.

“We are incredibly honored to receive this award and feel very privileged to be in the company of other positive impact organizations throughout North America that also leverage their business models in favor of financial well-being and employee well-being,” FMS President Scott Koloms said.

Some of the other recipients in the Top 100 Impact Companies list, which includes national and regional businesses, are EO Products, Network for Good, Schoolzilla, Andean Naturals, Natural Systems Utilities and other companies that conduct their businesses in a socially impactful way.
