Worker who fell through roof at JCPS high school dies

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A worker who fell through the roof of a Jefferson County Public high school has died.
Police were called to Waggener Traditional High School shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
When officers arrived, they found a contract worker who was replacing the roof fell through the roof and was injured.
According to Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Scott Russ, Fredy Godoy-Mendoza, 40, died just after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Russ said Godoy-Mendoza was working for a roofing contractor at the school. Russ said Godoy-Mendoza was working on a flat roof and stepped in a weak spot, falling approximately 12 feet inside the gym.
