LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The PNC Foundation awarded the Heuser Hearing & Language Academy nearly $50,000 on Tuesday.
The Heuser Hearing & Language Academy is going to use the money to create a new interactive sound garden for those who are deaf or hard of hearing.
The sound garden features six outdoor musical instruments for children ages 2-3 to experience sound in new ways through their amplification devices.
“That’s our goal is to put together a playground, or in this case a music garden, the PNC grow up great Music Garden, that children have the ability to play and enjoy and build memories," Chris Fry, president of PlayPros said. "It’s our hearts desire to make sure that every playground across the world ends up with some inclusive play.”
The new space is funded by the PNC Foundation in support of PNC Grow Up Great, a bilingual $350 million, multi-year initiative to help prepare children from birth to age 5 for success in school and life.
