Kennedy Bridge back open following sudden shutdown

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Four of the six lanes of the John F. Kennedy Bridge were shut down before rush hour Friday.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet issued an advisory indicating that crews would be working to repair a loose finger expansion joint.

The advisory also said the structural integrity of the bridge was not affected.

The bridge reopened just before 5 p.m.
