FLOYD COUNTY, Ind. (WAVE) – A sinkhole closed a portion of Interstate 265 in Floyd County.
The issue was reported in the eastbound lanes of I-265 near the 5 mile marker shortly after midnight.
Traffic was shut down in the area to allow road crews to repair the hole.
The Indiana Department of Transportation reopened the road by 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Road crews closed the westbound lanes of I-265 around 6 p.m. to inspect the roadway and make sure the sinkhole did not extend across those lanes. Those lanes are back open, as well.
