LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A woman has been arrested in the case of an officer-involved crash with an LMPD cruiser on Friday night.

Katelin Moody, 25, has been charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, assault of a police officer and criminal mischief.

According to LMPD, officers were responding to a burglar alarm call at about 10:40 p.m. in the 600 block of 43rd Street. When officers arrived on scene, an unrelated vehicle driven by Moody hit the parked police cruiser.

The arrest slip states that Moody’s vehicle was traveling northbound on South 43rd Street. Her vehicle swerved multiple directions and struck the patrol cruiser. The officer jumped onto his vehicle to avoid being hit, but was knocked off when the two vehicles collided.

The officer was knocked to the pavement and suffered injuries to the head, neck and back. He was transported to University Hospital with moderate, non-life threatening injuries.

Moody’s car then hit an additional police cruiser and struck a third vehicle.

Another officer spoke with Moody, who could detect slurred speech and alcohol on her breath. The preliminary breath test showed her blood-alcohol level at .139.

A court date for Moody has not yet been set.
