LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Kentucky officials are planning on leasing a private prison in order to help stop the overcrowding in jails in the state.

The facility located in Wheelwright in Floyd County will now be called the Southeast State Correction Complex and plans to house hundreds of inmates.

Officials say that the prison will open up in 2020 and is expected to employ around 200 people.
