SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Over 200 students in the Future Business Leaders of America program picked up trash at the Active Heroes Retreat Center on Wednesday.

The students, from schools all over WAVE Country, cleaned and organized the center, so the focus is on healing instead of mundane things.

“It’s nice to see the next generation wanting to give back and help so much,” Active Heroes President Troy Yocum said. “When I look at these kids as we’ve been talking today I have a great sense for our future. These type of kids are giving back and they want to help military family members, and that to me is an awesome thing.”

The center, which is located in Shepherdsville, is free for military families.

FBLA students also made a $500 donation to the Center.
