LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - UK basketball player Kahlil Whitney has announced he’s leaving the Wildcats.
Whitney said in a lengthy tweet (read the tweet below) that his time in Lexington “has not gone as I had hoped.”
The freshman forward started UK’s first seven games of the season, but in a reduced role of late, has only scored three points in the Wildcats’ six SEC games. The former McDonald’s high school All-American will end his Kentucky career averaging 3.3 points and 1.7 rebounds.
ESPN’s Jeff Borzello reported that Georgetown could be a transfer destination for Whitney, or Illinois.
