FRANKFORT, Ky. (WAVE) – A wreath-laying ceremony to honor the more than 1,000 Kentuckians who died from causes related to COVID-19 took place Thursday in the Capitol rotunda.

During the ceremony, the First United Methodist Church Handbell Ensemble will ring bells.

The wreath was placed by the Kentucky State Police Honor Guard as Governor Andy Beshear and Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman looked on from above.
