ISP investigating deadly 2-car crash near Salem

SALEM, Ind. (WAVE) - One person died in a crash involving two cars on State Road 60 near Salem Tuesday afternoon.
It happened around 4:10 p.m., Indiana State Police Sgt. Carey Huls confirmed.
An initial investigation conducted by the ISP troopers, Indiana Conservation Officers, and Washington County Sheriff’s Department deputies found that the driver of a purple 1993 Saturn was heading eastbound on State Road 60 near Abbott Lane and crossed the center line, hitting a black 2018 Jeep head-on.
The driver of the Saturn, Jerry Mosier, 57, of Salem, was pronounced dead at the crash site, Huls said.
The Jeep, driven by Mark Cochran of Bedford, Ind., spun and landed on the north side of the road. He was transported to UofL Hospital and his injuries are reportedly serious.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
