LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Global health care company McKesson is looking to hire 1,200 people to work in its new Louisville distribution center.

The warehouse workers will play a major role in the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines once they’re approved by the FDA and recommended by the CDC.

President of RxCrossroads by McKesson Shawn Seamans said the company is trying to get a head start on being prepared ahead of any vaccine’s release.

“No one can predict exactly when a final vaccine will be approved, but it is our mission to be ready for that major milestone,” Seamans said in a statement.

McKesson is looking for the applicants for all shifts, including part-time and full-time employees. Starting pay is more than $20 per hour.

Entry-level warehouse positions, machine operators and materials handlers are sought.
