LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - “I’m sorry.”
That’s what UofL Football Coach Scott Satterfield wrote in a letter to season ticket holders Thursday night after a wild few days.
Over the weekend, Satterfield had an interview with South Carolina about their coaching vacancy. When asked about it during his Monday meeting with the media, he hinted that he would listen if a North Carolina school inquired about hiring him.
Satterfield is a North Carolina native.
He also said players need to be more committed to programs than the coaches do, which didn’t sit well with the UofL fan base.
In his letter of apology Thursday, he owned up to his mistakes, and wrote to the fans, “I will do what is necessary to earn back the trust of each and every one of you.”
The Cards are back in action on Saturday at Cardinal Stadium against Wake Forest to close out the season.
