UofL men’s basketball returns to practice after week-long layoff
The school’s medical staff made ruled Thursday that the UofL basketball team can return to practice.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The UofL men’s basketball team has been cleared to return to practice.

The school’s medical staff made the ruling Thursday, a week after the Cards paused all team activities because of COVID concerns.

“The team will participate in two days of individual or small group sessions on Thursday and Friday, with the first organized full team practice scheduled for Saturday,” team spokesman Kenny Klein said in a statement.

The Cards’ game against Big Ten power Wisconsin that was scheduled for Dec. 9 was postponed, but it appears unlikely that it will be re-scheduled.

UofL’s next scheduled contest is Wednesday against ACC rival North Carolina State at the KFC Yum! Center.

The Cards are 4-0 and ranked 24th in this week’s USA Today coaches’ poll, and 25th in the AP poll.
