Child expected to survive after being shot in Valley Station

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A two-year-old girl is expected to survive from a shooting accident in Valley Station Saturday afternoon.

Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said calls came in around 3:30 p.m. to a home in the 4400 block of Southridge Drive on reports of a shooting.

Officers arrived on scene and found a two-year-old girl that had been shot. The girl was transported to Norton Children’s Hospital where she is expected to recover.

Mitchell said the wound appears to be self-inflicted based on preliminary investigation. LMPD continues their investigation at this time.
