LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A Louisville woman has been arrested after her infant daughter was brought to the hospital with severe injuries .

Ryan D. Travis, 21, was taken into custody January 4 on a charge of criminal abuse of a child under the age of 12.

The arrest report for Travis says Louisville Metro police were called to Norton Children’s Hospital after a 3-month-old girl was brought in suffering from a brain bleed. The examination showed child’s injuries were “constant with abusive head trauma.”

After telling detectives she was the only person that has cared for the child, Travis admitted to that while she and the child’s father were arguing she shook the baby from side-to-side and dropped her onto the couch. The report says Travis then demonstrated her actions for detectives.
