Driver killed in crash on I-71 South at Gene Snyder identified

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A woman who died in a vehicle collision on Interstate 71 South Monday has been identified.

Officers were called to the crash on I-71 at the Gene Snyder around 1:30 p.m., Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell said.

A preliminary investigation into the collision revealed a vehicle traveling southbound on I-71 had either slowed down or stopped in traffic. A pickup truck also heading south hit the back of the passenger vehicle.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, identified as Camie Bramblett, 37, of Bedford, Kentucky, was taken to University of Louisville Hospital where she died from her injuries.

The pickup truck driver and a passenger were not injured in the collision, according to police.

LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating the crash.
