Officials identify two killed in Shawnee shootings minutes apart

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Two victims who were shot and killed in the Shawnee neighborhood in separate shootings minutes apart from each other have been identified Monday.

Shyron Jackson, 20, died due to injuries after being shot at the 3200 block of Larkwood Avenue on January 7, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.

LMPD confirmed Thursday evening, they received calls to Larkwood Avenue on reports of a shooting. Jackson was found shot at the location and pronounced dead by Louisville Metro EMS.

Minutes later, LMPD responded to the 200 block of Cecil Avenue on reports of a shooting at around 5:50 p.m.

Police said that when officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot, and was immediately sent to University Hospital, where he later died.

The Jefferson County Coroner revealed the victim’s identity Monday as 46-year-old Duan Calloway.

Investigation on both cases is still underway by LMPD’s Homicide Unit.
