LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A SWAT team was dispatched to a house in Louisville’s Tyler Park neighborhood in response to a barricade situation Monday night.

Dispatchers received a call about a situation in the 1200 block of Bates Court just before 9 p.m., Officer Beth Ruoff of the Louisville Metro Police Department said.

“An EMS assist turned into a barricaded subject,” Ruoff said in a statement to WAVE 3 News.

Ruoff later confirmed that EMS workers were responding to the home after a medical call when shots were fired. The crews retreated and LMPD SWAT team members responded.

Once SWAT team members made their way into the house, a woman was found. She was transported to the hospital to be treated for the initial medical emergency call.

No one was reported to be hit or injured in the shooting.

LMPD’s 5th Unit is investigating the incident further.
