LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - UofL Health is opening five new Urgent Care Plus centers in the Louisville area.
Two UofL Physicians Urgent Care Plus clinics are now seeing patients at the Medical Center Northeast on Old Henry Road and the Cedar Grove business park in Bullitt County.
A third location at Hurstbourne and Shelbyville Road, is expected to open in March.
Two additional locations are planned for the Dixie Highway area and West Louisville, but the final details are still being worked out.
The urgent care clinics are open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
The clinics can treat minor injuries and illnesses and perform routine exams.
“At most of these sites, we’re going to be offering primary care services. So, we have PCP’s in house there as well,” UofL Physicians Director of Clinical Operations Christina John said. “We have occupational, workers comp running through these as well. As this develops and we open up more, we’re going to have some behavioral health components to this as well, partnering with Peace Hospital, which is very important right now, especially with all the COVID.”
The Urgent Care Plus locations also offer drug testing and Department of Transportation Physicals.
The five new locations are in addition to an existing UofL Health Urgent Care, which is located on Dupont Road in St. Matthews.
