Deadly shooting under investigation in Elizabethtown, victim identified by officials
Police were called to the 500 block of Village Dr. around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (WAVE) - One person has died after a shooting in Elizabethtown Saturday night.

Police were called to the 500 block of Village Dr. around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Elizabethtown Police Department Officer Chris Denham.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim, identified as 29-year-old Irving White from Hardin County, had driven to a home at the location, where he and two other individuals inside began an altercation.

White returned to his vehicle and began firing shots at the home. One of the individuals inside then returned fire, striking White.

After being shot, White got into his vehicle and began to drive away, but only made it a short distance before he died due to his injuries.

Officials pronounced White dead at the scene upon arrival.

Denham said all parties involved are accounted for and there are no outstanding suspects. The investigation is ongoing by EPD at this time.
